Habitat For Humanity Builds ready to begin in Keene

For the past 3 years, I've been volunteering with Habitat for Humanity on their build committee. Well we're finally ready to start building this spring. We have 7 acres on Old Walpole Road and will be building 2 separate 1200 sf 3 bed 2 bath houses. We're looking for partner families as well as volunteers to help build. 1,836 SF Custom House Finished

Just wrapped up our biggest build yet. This was a custom build on an old existing 27x34 foundation. It was a full two stories, so 1,836 SF, plus basement and full walkup attic. Four bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms. This was our first time using I-joists for the floors, attic trusses and standing seam metal roofing, and was definitely the tallest and steepest roof we've done so far - I think it went pretty well overall. This house had tile in the bathrooms and mudroom, and hardwood everywhere else - shiplap on the walls and ceiling. We even custom built the kitchen counters, mudroom shelf, and baby gates. Jamaica Cottage Shop Vermont Cabin Build

Just putting the finishing touches on our first Jamaica Cottage Shop 24x30 "Vermont Cabin" build. It was built on a full walkout basement, we framed in one of the 30 ft walls with a door and 2 windows. And because it was on a basement vs. a slab, they purchased the floor package with supporting post and beam structure to hold up the middle, which we also built. It was a full loft with 2 large 48 in x 48 in windows, one on each side. The main floor had two doors and 8 smaller 36 in x 36 in windows. Total sq ft 1440. It took us about 5 weeks to complete.
